Choosing Books for Your Child, Ages 0-4
- Select books with simple text, pattern & rhyme so you can sing the story
- Consider high-contrasts, colorful pictures, and touch and feel books
- Develop thinking skills by choosing alphabet, number, color or shape books

Helping Your Child Choose Books, Ages 5-12
- Expose your child to a variety of books...traditional literature, picture books, poetry, and non-fiction
- Allow your child's interests to guide your, the parent's, choices
- Check out GUWB's Favorite Author and Sizzlin' series sections
- Try the Read TWO rules (hyperlink to Read TWO rules)
- Encourage your child to gather with friends and start a book club. Sharing with friends may expose them to new book choices.
